All the single ladies… now put your hands up because it’s National Singles Week. This national holiday week is celebrated from September 17-23. Let’s celebrate with Liza Minelli killin’ it singing ‘Single Ladies’ in Sex and the City 2 movie.
Celebrating TV’s Single Ladies
About six months ago, I binge-watched The Golden Girls on HULU. There are too many times to count how I laughed until I cried. Those ladies are savage and Rose is my favorite. As I watched GG, I thought to myself – dang this is probably how the Sex & The City gals ended up. Well, I am not alone! I recently came across an old Buzzfeed article titled, “Proof That “Sex And The City” And “The Golden Girls” Are The Same Show.” Using that article’s comparisons, I’m going to take it a step further and add the cast of GIRLS to this mix. I’m sure that Lena Dunham is ALL SICK AND TIRED of being compared to SATC as it’s another show about four women in New York on the HBO network.
Shosh is the innocent one and that’s why my favorite GIRLS episode has to “Welcome to Bushwick a.k.a. The Crackcident.” Every group has the token floozy – Jessa, Samantha, and Blanche all fit the bill! Ugh, Marnie. Marnie and Miranda seem to have it together for the most part but then relationship just goes wild and cause so much drama. Poor Dorothy’s stupid ex-husband haunts her for life! And then there’s Hanna, Carrie, and Sophia. They all had that one lover boy that got away or did them wrong but they just can’t shake. And personality wise, they all have something to say.
I’ll let you reminisce about all the fun times had by these groups of bad ass betches. Go ahead and watch a few episodes to celebrate! I’ve been celebrating the single ladies for some time now, even in the blog archives. But now I’m going to grab some brunch with three of my fave gals… so toodles!
