Summer is upon us, and this sassy gal is ready to FLAMINGLE! Last year we rented a beach house just outside of Charleston in Seabrook Island, SC. After a week at the beach, Madre and I brought my nieces down to visit us in Florida for #AbuelaCamp. This year we brought the girls down before beach week, and tomorrow we’ll be jetting off to Florida Panhandle. Here’s a round-up of all the essentials that I’ll be taking with me for this beach getaway.
plane outfit
I always need a jacket or long sleeve on the plane, so it’s the perfect item to wear without having to bulk-up in your luggage. I also love a white t & these Michael Stars tanks are the most flattering and are one size fits all. I’m going to make an honest effort to get in some workouts while on vacation (#balance) so I’ll wear my leggings & sneakers to travel and save space. I rarely go without my Longchamp tote, and there’s nothing better than having some great headphones for in-flight entertainment. These LSTN headphones were a gift from my brother, and I love that the proceeds from all of their products go towards giving hearing aids to people in need worldwide through our charity partner, Starkey Hearing Foundation.
just add water
Six days of fun in the sun, six swimsuits. That’s not overkill, it’s common sense. This past week we’ve been in and out of the pool 2-3 times a day. This J.Crew one-piece is not only cannonball friendly but helps disguise your indulgences. My bikini style is always a bold one, and I love brands like Mara Hoffman and Maaji.
everyday Madewell
Y’all, I have no problem wearing Madewell every day. Their basics are so easy to dress up for a night out and down for a casual lunch. Emma’s Thing had recommended the high-waisted button-fly shorts, and I’m a total fan.
beachy feet
A fashion sneaker usually is what I pack if I know there may be some heavy walking and hiking around. I’ll stick to my Nikes this trip for workouts. These rubber Birks are THE BEST. I have no problem taking them from the pool to making a Publix beer run. Rainbow flip flops are a must for any beach trip but take your time picking the right one for you because there are so many options – skinny straps, extra support, wide straps, oh my! Fancy sandals like Jack Rogers are certainly beach appropriate.
