world (showcase) travelers

Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival is an annual event ( – , 2017) celebrating cuisine and beverages from all over the world. Epcot is known for “drinking around the World.” There are 11 countries represented in the World Showcase but this event takes it up a notch as additional 25+ kiosks! For those that run to eat, you should consider RunDisney’s Wine & Dine Half Marathon & 10K weekend.
After visiting this past weekend, I made sure to summarize the tasty treats & drinks our group enjoyed along the way. My girlfriend will be going to celebrate a bachelorette at Epcot and Magic Kingdom so it’s only fair to give my reviews. Be sure to pick up a booklet (or view The Full Menu) to preview kiosk offerings and keep tracking of all the yummy treats enjoyed. Remember, this is a foodie marathon, not a sprint! I would literally thumb through and decide that I wasn’t going to eat anything until I got to a kiosk that had something I was really drooling over. I did do a terrible job of taking photos so thank you Cely for documenting so many yummy eats!

We came, we ate, we conquered.

My favorite treats came from the new kiosks and thankfully we started there.
Flavors from Fire: Smoked Corned Beef with Warm Crispy Potatoes, Pickled Onions and Blonde Ale Beer Fondue featuring BelGioioso Romano and America Grana Cheeses
Light Lab: You can walk through for a glownut or a specialty champagne with boba pearls in the Light Lab. Or a flight of beers outside the lab.

Active Eats: Loaded Mac ‘n’ Cheese with Nueske’s® Pepper Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Peppers and Green Onions
Sweet Avocado Crema with Strawberries, Yellow Cake and Tortilla Streusel

The Chocolate Studio and Islands of the Caribbean are here too but we sampled nothing.

WORLD SHOWCASE

As you make your way towards the World Showcase, you must decide to go left towards Mexico or right towards Canada….
IF YOU GO RIGHT, stop at the Refreshment Port and get a Dole Whip and/or a CRONUT.
New Zealand and Australia are here but we sampled nothing (not a fan of lamb)
Canada: Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup served with a Pretzel Roll
* This was our group’s favorite item

Ireland: Roasted Irish Sausage with Colcannon Potatoes and Onion Gravy
Scotland: Belhaven Brewery Scottish Ale

*Go inside to Mexico, there is a casa de tequila for specialty tequila flights or margaritas and a cute little boat ride with the three amigos. It’s my favorite!

*Also the Craft Beers showcase is right before Mexico on the left (left of the restrooms). This may be a welcomed A/C break with some beer flights.

China, India and Africa were not stops for us. There is a refreshment port after the bridge from Mexico but before Germany that features and frozen coke & whiskey drink. GET THAT!

Are you hungry yet? If you plan on attending this event, be sure to load a gift card up with $$$$$ funds to easier zip in and out of lines. I plan to return in October and I will try and try some new items! Hopefully, it’ll be cooler by late October. Cheers! Eat, drink & be merry.
