week of 11/5: rose & thorn

Let’s shake things up a little bit! Per usual, I like to take a moment on Friday to reflect on the highs and lows of the week. I was reading through blog goddess, Emily Schuman of Cupcake & Cashmere’s email newsletter and  I was inspired to follow her format. We’ll be talking about the top 3 roses & thorns of the week of November 5th.

  1. I feel good. Over a week of detoxing and it’s done my body good.
    • This is coming from the girl that wouldn’t manage to take a multivitamin on a daily basis but has suddenly benefited from supplements. I’ve recently realized that 10+ supplements taken AM/PM can make the world of a difference. Seriously.
  2. Sale season is underway. Sephora’s 20% OFF VIB Rouge Event kicked off today!
    • Y’all I can’t pull the trigger on everything in my checkout yet. I just keep revisiting, adding and subtracting. #allthisbeauty If you need any holiday inspo, be sure to check out Sassy’s Gift Guide
  3. My blonde cocker spaniel Lucy is the cutest. So cute that her Instagram is @Cutesielucy (that’s Auntie Michelle!)
    • She begs for morning walks to keep me motivated to bust a move. She sleeps at my feet while I primp. And she keeps it real by being a ravenous little piglet. God love her.

  1. TIME CHANGE. It’s totally thrown me off this week and I know that I am not alone.
    • It’s damn near always dark. I wake up early to workout, it’s dark. I leave work at a normal hour, it looks like it’s a quarter ’til midnight.
  2. It’s still not Thanksgiving week.
    • I spent a good portion of this week under the assumption that I’d be in New York next week. Whoops! The joke is on me. 5 more work days to get through until I can focus on anything but friends & family. I’m sending good vibes to anyone in my path.
  3. HATE.
    • You can’t miss it. Every time I turn on the TV there’s some form of it and it makes my heart heavy.

How do you feel about the week? You may benefit from the therapeutic act of rehashing everything that went on and celebrating successes and recognizing bummers.

xoxo,
